NFL Power Rankings: Week 10
16 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5)
PR – NR
As of right now, TB12 is undefeated since officially getting divorced. Not going to lie to you though, the game against the Rams was a struggle to watch. Neither offense could get it going. It was only in the last minute when TB12 went vintage Tom and led the Bucs to a 60-yard game winning drive.
15 – New England Patriots (5-4)
PR – 14
The Patriots’ defense is dominant. 2 different players (Matthew Judon and Josh Uche) had 3 sacks against the Colts. I mean, take it with a grain of salt because they did play against the Colts… But the entire season thus far suggests that this Patriots’ defense is not to be taken lightly.
14 – Los Angeles Chargers (5-3)
PR – 15
The Chargers won a tough game without many of their big-name stars – WR Keenan Allen, WR Mike Williams, DE Joey Bosa and K Dustin Hopkins just to name a few. It is going to be hard to compete when the offense is so devoid of talent outside of QB Justin Herbert and RB Austin Ekeler. If this team can weather the storm and remain in the hunt until they get healthy, the Chargers will be scary come playoff time.
13 – Tennessee Titans (5-3)
PR – 7
The Titans have a big drop in rankings here and it is not because of how they played last week. They actually performed admirably against the Chiefs and held the Chiefs offense to 20 points through overtime. The drop in rankings comes after their passing offense failed to go over 100 yards for the 2nd straight week. Yes, I know rookie Malik Willis is in at QB instead of Ryan Tannehill but there is NO ONE OPEN, EVER.
12 – Cincinnati Bengals (5-4)
PR – 12
The Bengals are coming off a BYE. Best news of the week for Bengals fans is that WR Ja’Marr Chase looks like he is progressing faster than anticipated.
11 – New York Giants (6-2)
PR – 9
Another team coming off a BYE but they dropped because I straight up don’t like them and don’t believe that they will do anything substantial.
10 – San Francisco 49ers (4-4)
PR – 10
Yet another team coming off a BYE. 3 teams in a row but it is what it is. WR Deebo Samuel is looking like he is going to be healthy. Coach Kyle Shanahan is going to feel like he is playing Madden with all the different formations and weapons he can use to mess with the opposing defense.
9 – Seattle Seahawks (6-3)
PR – 11
Each week this Seahawks team surprises me. They are overperforming above expectation but so much. 9 weeks into the season and it looks like the Seahawks actually won the trade with the Broncos. I still don’t think they will win the NFC West but they are pretty fun to watch.
8 – Miami Dolphins (6-3)
PR – 8
The Dolphins were able to see firsthand exactly how good Bear’s QB Justin Fields is on the ground. The Dolphins’ defense couldn’t do anything to stop Fields as he rushed for 178 yards. But when it comes to a shootout, the Dolphins normally come out on top. They aren’t built for low scoring games, they are built to score a ton with an extremely explosive offense. Oh, and what’s up with the backfield? I genuinely don’t know if I should start Jeff Wilson or Raheem Mostert.
7 – New York Jets (6-3)
PR – 13
Be honest, did anyone think the Jets would beat the Bills? I certainly didn’t. I even said so in my last power rankings. Man, was I wrong. The Jets’ defense finally has HC Robert Saleh’s imprint and is becoming one of the best units in the league. They intercepted Bills’ QB Josh Allen 2 times and sacked him 5 times. It’s time to consider the Jets’ defense as elite.
6 – Baltimore Ravens (6-3)
PR – 6
I feel like the theme of this power rankings is defense because I have talked about it a ton and because I am going to talk about the Ravens’ defense right now. The Ravens’ defense showed up big against the Saints. They did not allow a TD until the last 4 minutes of the game and had 4 sacks. With TE Mark Andrews out, the defense played a huge role in this win.
5 – Dallas Cowboys (6-2)
PR – 4
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off a BYE. Not much to say here. On a personal note, I did manage to pull off a trade where I got Cowboys’ RB Tony Pollard and Broncos’ WR Jerry Jeudy for Steelers’ RB Najee Harris. Last week I talked about how explosive Pollard looks in this Cowboys offense. I hope it continues. My fantasy season relies on it.
4 – Minnesota Vikings (7-1)
PR – 5
Iced out and shirtless Kirk Cousins is a different animal. They once again needed all 4 quarters to win against the Commanders but a win is a win and at the end of the day, that is all that matter. Sitting at 7-1, I am not sure how far this team can go but they sure do that the pieces to make a run for it if they manage to put it all together.
3 – Kansas City Chiefs (6-2)
PR – 3
The incredible Chiefs offense came back down to earth against the Titans. Yes, they still won but it wasn’t in typical Chiefs fashion. The Titans slowed down the Chiefs by doing the exact opposite of what the 49ers did. The Titans didn’t really blitz and QB Patrick Mahomes had a hard time figuring out who to throw to. Mahomes is still one of the best in the league but did a weakness just get exposed?
2 – Buffalo Bills (6-3)
PR -2
The Bills lost to the Jets last week. Got it? Okay cool. Glad that part is over with. They are still built like the best team in the league. It is okay to have missteps every once in a while, as long as they learn from it and I believe the Bills most certainly will. It is a tad bit concerning that QB Josh Allen is dealing with an UCL sprain, but all reports suggest he will be able to play through it. I mean, it definitely did not look like it hurt as he played the rest of the game with it and continued to throw deep balls to Stefon Diggs.
1 – Philadelphia Eagles (8-0)
PR – 1
I am going to be honest with you, I didn’t even watch the Eagles/Texans game on Thursday night. I saw that matchup and decided that there was a better use of my time. Looking at the game recap, it looked like the Eagles didn’t even try until they needed to. That is how good this team is. They can mess around and not care until push comes to shove then they can flip the switch to win the game.
