NFL Waiver Wires: Week 15

QB: Jake Browning – Cincinnati Bengals

-28.6% rostered

-23.7 points against Indianapolis Colts

-18/24 for 275 yards and 2 TD and 1 INT. Added 3 rushes for 7 yards and 1 TD

Jake Browning has put in work over the last couple of weeks. 26 points last week and 23 this week. He is proving that he’s no joke. He spread the ball around to all of his pass catchers with 9 different receivers catching the ball. Browning has shown to have a solid knowledge of this offense and this scheme. It helps that the Bengals are fighting for a playoff spot so everyone is playing to the best of their ability. Browning also has a knack for rushing the ball when they are in close. He has a rushing TD in each of the last 2 weeks. Up next, Browning and the Bengals take on the Vikings who seem to be going through some internal turmoil.

RB: Jerick McKinnon – Kansas City Chiefs

-34.4% rostered

-12.7 points against Buffalo Bills

-4 carries for 19 yards and a TD. Added 3 receptions for 18 yards

This guy was a league winner for a lot of people last year. This year, however, it has been a different story. He has hardly been rostereable. That all changed this week when RB1 Isiah Pacheco went on IR. This pick is all about opportunity. McKinnon isn’t much of a factor in the run game but he will get more opportunity for carries now. He will also be relied upon more often in the passing game. Pacheco became a decent pass catching back over the year but with him out, McKinnon will have a stranglehold on 3rd downs. Up next, the Chiefs play the Patriots but the Chiefs are pissed after this week’s loss and will likely try to make a statement win.

WR: Odell Beckman Jr. – Baltimore Ravens

-50.8% rostered

-19.7 points against Los Angeles Rams

-4 receptions on 10 targets for 97 yards and a TD

Yes, I know I’m picking a guy over 50% rostered and yes, I know that I picked him a couple weeks ago but I promise, its well worth it. A couple weeks ago I said that the Ravens wanted to get him more involved and boy, did they. 31 targets over the last 5 games and 10 last game alone. This guy is the priority in the Ravens pass game. He truly looks like the guy he was in his prime and with this being his last season, I expect him to give us his all every single game. Up next, OBJ plays against a Jacksonville Jaguars defense who give up the 7th most points to fantasy WR this season.

TE: Tanner Hudson – Cincinnati Bengals

-4.5% rostered

-10.1 points against Indianapolis Colts

-2 receptions on 3 targets for 21 yards and a TD

I’m doing that thing where I pair a QB and a pass catcher in my waiver wire article because honestly, it has worked really well so far. Tanner Hudson may not be a house hold name, but he has been a nice little safety valve for Jake Browning. Since week 9, he has had 28 targets which is a lot for a TE. As I mentioned earlier, Browning spreads the ball around in this offense which gives Hudson an opportunity to shine. Typically, once a guy gets his first TD, it comes in bunches. That may be a possibility for Hudson so grab him while he’s hot.
