MLB Power Rankings: Week 15

12 - St. Louis Cardinals (47-42)

(PR: 7)

Oh man. I really thought this team would be leading the NL Central by now. But…they’re still only 2 games back and although the depth is a concern, I think they have enough to eventually be division leaders. Time will tell.

11 - Tampa Bay Rays (46-40)

(PR: 8)

The most boringly (is that a word?…it is now) good team in baseball continuing their solid play. Shane McClanahan is having an incredible season though, definitely not boring! (9-3, 1.73 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, 141 Ks)

10 - Philadelphia Phillies (46-41)

(PR: NR)

This is a team I definitely counted out too soon. Despite the injury to Bryce Harper, this team has been playing great baseball lately. The pitching is showing off the depth and the whole team looks like they have a purpose and identity. A complete 180 from 2 months ago.

9 - Boston Red Sox (47-40)

(PR: NR)

The Chris Sale return is here and the Red Sox have put themselves in a great position to contend for the postseason. Trevor Story has finally added his great skill to a great lineup.

8 - Minnesota Twins (48-40)

(PR: 9)

The Twins continue to have a very good season and are probably a little underrated. The offense is top 5 in the league and the pitching that really nobody gave any thought about, is doing very well.

7 - San Diego Padres (50-38)

(PR: 4)

The Padres came into Dodger Stadium only one game back of LA in the standings. Only a 9th inning comeback on Sunday saved them from a 4-game sweep. The offense is really struggling right now and the pitching is the only thing keeping them competitive.

6 - Milwaukee Brewers (48-39)

(PR: 11)

With all the injuries and lackluster performances the Brew Crew has had this season, they are still playing good baseball and have led the division for most of the season. They don’t do anything extremely well but they don’t struggle in any area either.

5 - Atlanta Braves (52-36)

(PR: 12)

The Braves have really come into their own after a very slow start to the season. They have found a World Series hangover cure and having Ronald Acuna Jr. back in that lineup adds that extra spark to this team. They are very close to taking over the NL East but the Mets are gonna be a tough matchup to beat.

4 - New York Mets (54-33)

(PR: 3)

The Mets are finally starting to get healthy again with the return of Max Scherzer and Jacob deGromm’s return on the horizon. The Braves have made the NL East the most compelling division race to watch but the Mets have led the division all season and it will take a lot to take it from them.

3 - Houston Astros (56-29)

(PR: 5)

The Astros have been racking up a lot of wins lately thanks to an easy stretch of the schedule but they are no doubt an elite team. They continue to show dominant pitching and might be closing in on the Yankees for best record in the AL.

2 - Los Angeles Dodgers (56-29)

(PR: 2)

The boys in blue have won 12 of their last 13 games. Less than 3 weeks ago, they were tied with the Padres for the NL West lead, now they own a 7.5 game lead. Tony Gonsolin continues a historic season and the offense has finally looked like a true dominant force with production from the whole lineup.

1 - New York Yankees (61-25)

(PR: 1)

The Yankees have looked a little more beatable lately. That was a little expected with how insanely good they have been the first half of the season. With that being said, there is no reason to doubt this team as the best in baseball right now.
